Job summary

Novant Health's Heart and Vascular Institute in Matthews is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the provider, coordinate care, and ensure safe, quality service for our practice population. The role will assist with clinical workflows and patient preparation on a schedule of 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday.

You will obtain vitals, perform EKGs, update histories, and communicate next steps to patients with kindness, empathy, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

What We're Looking For

• Education:High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
• Experience:Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional skills required:Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
