Job summary

AdventHealth in Mansfield, Texas, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in a full-time, day-shift role. You will prepare patients, collect vitals, assist with procedures, and document results in the practice system while maintaining patient confidentiality.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, BLS certification, CMA/CMAC/RMA or equivalent, and 1+ year of related experience. This role emphasizes accuracy, patient advocacy, and teamwork within a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

  • Must possess knowledge of the health care field and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with chronic disease management.
  • Ability to access and utilize internal and external resources for patient care.
  • Proven expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems.

  • Strong written and spoken English skills for job requirements.
  • Proficient on computers and basic office software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and equipment for treatment and document results in the system.
  • Provide comprehensive patient care during visits, including intake, tests, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients about tests, medications and diets with clear instructions.
  • Monitor inventory and ensure medical equipment is functional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Support team collaboration by assisting patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Perform clinical intake including history, vitals, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assist with minor procedures and ensure proper documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Schedule

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
  • Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
  • Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system. Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies.
  • Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employees’ and patients’ administrative and medical information.
  • Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary.
  • Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results.
  • Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions.
  • Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
