Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking an MA to provide general medical care in outpatient clinics. The role operates within a franchised AFC location, with duties varying by franchise. The position supports patient care with vitals, exams, vaccinations, labs, and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities include patient education, lab processing, drug screening, referrals, and room preparation. Certifications and an associate degree are preferred, with training offered to ensure quality patient

Qualifications

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
• Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance.
• Respond to lab messages and call back requests.
• Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with rules and regulations.
• Ensure patient immunizations are well documented.
• Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants.
