Job summary

Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front office operations. You will work with providers to deliver high-quality care and ensure efficient patient flow in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role requires 1 year MA experience and a valid BLS certification at hire. You will perform venipuncture, point-of-care tests, and EMR documentation while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Certification within 12 months if MA experience <3 years.
• CPOE certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographics, insurance, and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing and report results.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; manage inventory.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record system.
• Support front desk responsibilities (phone management, patient communication).
• Carry out opening/closing duties and end-of-day reconciliation.
