CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - LaFayette is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians, manage vital signs, and coordinate patient care. You will assist with procedures, educate patients, and ensure accurate charting in the EHR.

Ideal candidates have CMA credentials, strong clinical knowledge, and a collaborative, learning-oriented attitude. On-site team environment with a focus on compassionate care and privacy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with CMA certification.
  • CMA/NHA/NCCT/NAHP/AMT credentials at hire or prior.
  • CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety and privacy at all times.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for the clinician.
  • Record vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, resp, weight, height.
  • Assist with clinical procedures and specimen collection as needed.
  • Administer medications/vaccines per orders and coordinate care.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - LaFayette, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate or
  • High School GED and
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
Preferred
  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience.
  • Electronic health record experience.
