Job summary

Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care Management, LLC seeks a Medical Assistant (Float) to support urgent care providers. You will manage patient check-in, take vitals, interview patients, and prepare specimens for lab analysis.

The role requires a Medical Assisting program completion, BLS at hire, and MA certifications (CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA etc.) or an approved nursing background, with strong teamwork and patient service focus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; MA program preferred.
• BLS certification required at hire time, ARC/AHA.
• MA certifications (CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA etc.) or approved nursing background accepted.
• Experience in front desk and patient check-in is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify insurance and eligibility, schedule appointments.
• Take vital signs, interview patients, and record medical history.
• Perform point-of-care testing and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and input records.
• Answer calls, coordinate referrals, and ensure smooth patient flow.

Manages the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
