CommonSpirit Medical Group - Primary Care & Sports Medicine - Hixson is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care and care coordination in a busy clinic. You will assist with screenings, clinical procedures, health education, and administrative tasks, using technology to coordinate care for diverse patients.

The ideal candidate has CMA credentials, solid clinical knowledge, and a compassionate, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

  • Must have CMA certification upon hire
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Radiologic technician training may be required
  • Active CMA/MA certifications or eligibility upon hire
  • CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide for patient safety and privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care per established standards.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, respirations, height/weight, allergies, medications).
  • May draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
  • Administer prescribed medications and/or vaccines as ordered.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Primary Care & Sports Medicine - Hixson , you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or
  • High School GED and
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience.
  • Electronic health record experience.
