Job summary

The Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc in Indiana is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our team. This role supports patients and providers to deliver high-quality, efficient, compassionate care within our Federally Qualified Health Center.

Responsibilities include exam room readiness, patient triage, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy coordination, documentation in the EHR, and adherence to CLIA and OSHA standards; prior ambulatory care experience is

Qualifications

  • Certified CMA or Registered CMA/RMA
  • Graduate of ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Knowledge of EHR and standard clinical, lab procedures
  • Familiarity with VFC, CHIRP, and VOMS systems is preferred
  • Ambulatory care experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stock exam rooms for patient care
  • Room patients, check vital signs, and communicate with providers
  • Assist providers with procedures and patient care
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and coordinate referrals
  • Triage calls, review results, manage pharmacy communications, and review medications
  • Document accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing and ensure CLIA compliance
  • Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC program requirements
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and partners

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateCertified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our team. This role is integral in supporting both patients and providers, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Prepare and stock exam rooms to ensure readiness for patient care
  • Room patients, check vital signs, and assess patient needs to communicate effectively with providers
  • Assist providers with procedures and patient care as needed
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, and coordinate referrals
  • Triage patient phone calls, review test results, manage pharmacy calls, and review medications
  • Complete patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner within theElectronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Perform point-of-care lab testing, prepare specimens, and maintain compliance withCLIA standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and external partners to support patient care and outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to clinical standards includingOSHA, CLIA, ADA, and VFC program requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified (CMA) or Registered (RMA) Medical Assistant
  • Graduate of an accreditedABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant program
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • American Heart Association BLS certificationrequired
  • Knowledge of standard clinical, lab, and medical procedures
  • Computer literacy and accurate data entry skills required
  • Familiarity withVFC, CHIRP, and VOMS systemsstrongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
