Job summary

PanCare Health in Freeport, FL seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support our medical team, assist with patient care, and help ensure smooth clinic operations.

The position requires a CMA certification and 6 months of EMR and patient-care experience. You will greet patients, take vital signs, assist with exams, and coordinate specimens and tests in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
  • 6 months experience managing medical records, appointment scheduling, billing and coding
  • 6 months of using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
  • 6 months assisting with patient preparation, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and wound care

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic tests and procedures (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
  • Administer medications as directed by the physician
  • Collect and process specimens for lab analysis
  • Assist with exam preparation and during treatment/examination
  • Observe and report patient conditions and reactions to treatments
  • Maintain timely patient flow and greet/prepare patients for examination
  • Coordinate patient testing and information
  • Support charting and post-test documentation, as required
  • Ensure exam rooms are prepared and stocked; participate in CLIA/OSHA compliance

This position is located at our Freeport Medical Clinic.

Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform routine diagnostic tests, medicaltreatmentsand procedures such as taking and recording temperatures, pulse,respirationand blood pressure; changing sterile dressings, giving irrigations and enemas; preparing patient and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administering medication as directed by the physician.
  • Performs collection, documentation and processing of blood, specimen and/or urinesamplesas ordered by the medical provider and/or current standing orders.
  • Assistswith the preparation of equipment and aids the physician/nurse practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners.
  • Maintainsthetimelyflow of patients.
  • Greetpatients andpreparethem for examination by the physician or nurse practitioner. Screens patients forappropriate information.Instructs patientson sample collection and testing.
  • Arranges forpatientstesting and information.
  • Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients’ charts.Poststests and examination results.
  • Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
  • Participates in CLIA and OSHA compliance and monitoring.
  • Participates in professional development activities andmaintainsprofessional affiliations.
  • Monitors emergency kit and oxygen tanks asrequired.
  • Monitors andmaintainssupplies and medicationcloset.
  • Assistin the completion of referrals,diagnostics,and other related tasksin a timely manner.
  • Maintains tracking,documentationandassistancein the completion of Uniform Data System (UDS), Healthcare Effectiveness Data and information set (HEDIS), and Care Gap Measures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
  • 6 months experienceof managing medical records, appointment scheduling,billingand coding
  • 6 monthsofusingElectronic Medical Record (EMR)experience
  • 6 monthsofassistingwith patient preparation, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and wound care

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of managing medical records, appointment scheduling,billingand coding
  • At least 1 year of using Electronic Medical Record experience
