How you make a difference
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, implementing established policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, intervening with proper techniques and safety precautions.
- Gather patient history, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow‑up.
- Adhere to designated work schedules, responding effectively to codes or patient crises as per site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
- Prioritize infection control techniques and principles, contributing to the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients.
- Maintain working areas, supplies, and equipment, attending mandatory staff meetings and training to uphold a high standard of healthcare delivery and professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Successful completion of an accredited CMA course.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the State if certification is required by the State or the facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
Additional Details
12‑hour PRN night position; 1 shift per week, with 1 shift a weekend. Elkhart County Jail
