Job summary

David Raines Community Health Centers is seeking a passionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team and provide high‑quality, compassionate dental care to the communities we serve. The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, history collection, and efficient EHR management.

Responsibilities include room preparation, assisting providers, vital signs, medication administration, and coordinating community care referrals. Prior CMA certification and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Completed accredited medical assistant program and CMA certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with routine medical protocols and terminology.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Experience with electronic health records, preferably Next Gen or similar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide information as needed.
• Collect patient histories and personal information.
• Update patient records in EHR and manage medical records.
• Manage medical supply inventory and prepare exam rooms.
• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist provider during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Refer patients for community care and report abnormal results.

is seeking a passionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality, compassionate dental care to the communities we serve.

Work Experience Requirements

• Ensures patient confidentiality and provides patients with needed information.
• Collect patient medical histories and personal information.
• Manage patient medical records and update in EHR.
• Manage medical supply inventory.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient visits.
• Ensure rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
• Clean medical instruments and examinations rooms.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight).
• Assist provider with examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and injections as directed
• Establishes that each patient is advised of patient rights and other necessary education tools to assist the patient.
• Performs other duties required to meet the goal of providing primary health care.
• Prepares community care referrals as needed.
• Reports abnormal results to the physician.
• Observes for the presence of any urgent problems needing immediate attention.
• Perform other duties as required

Education/Experience Requirements:

(The minimum qualifications can be with any combination of education and/or experience.)
