A leading healthcare facility in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical procedures and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, escorting patients, documenting vital signs, and maintaining medical records. Responsibilities

  • Assist in clinical procedures under supervision.

  • Maintain exam rooms and medical supplies.
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.

Job description

Southlake Orthopaedics has an opening for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant at our busy and very fast paced orthopaedic clinic.

Job Summary
  • Assist in clinical procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant.
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms.
  • All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Medical assistant certification required.
  • The ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections required.
  • Knowledge of EHRs.
