Job summary

Allegria Village is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents in our assisted living facility in Dearborn, MI. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities across multiple shifts.

We require at least 6 months of Med Tech experience, a Med Tech Certification, and strong communication skills in English. CPR is preferred. You will ensure safe medication administration and keep accurate MAR records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of Medication Tech experience in an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility.
  • Med Tech Certification required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to act quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Effective communication in English (verbal and written).
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with the self-administration of prescribed medications.
  • Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration (right resident, drug, dose, time, route, and documentation).
  • Monitor resident health (vital signs, symptoms) and report concerns.
  • Record medication administration accurately in the MAR.
  • Keep medication carts, cabinets, and rooms organized, clean, and stocked.
  • Audit medication carts daily and facilitate timely medication reorders.
  • Communicate with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Respect residents' rights to dignity, privacy, and medication refusal.
  • Identify and report adverse reactions or health concerns.
  • Maintain hygiene to prevent infection and complete paperwork timely.
  • Support evolving care needs with prompt attention.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Medication Technician – Assisted Living (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Location: Allegria Village – Dearborn, MI

Join our team at Allegria Village, the largest assisted living community in the U.S., where compassionate care meets a vibrant senior lifestyle. We're currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Medication Technician (Med Tech) to support our residents in our Assisted Living Facility.

Shifts Available:
  • All Shifts: Morning, Afternoon and Night shift

  • Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available

Requirements:

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medication Technician in an Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Facility

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with the self-administrationof prescribed medications

Education & Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and typing

  • May have exposure to individuals with communicable diseases
