Job summary

Mount Nittany Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant Certified for Medical Surgical units on both night and day shifts at our State College, PA campus. This position reports to the Unit Director/Manager with supervision by the Nursing staff and involves direct patient care, assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and basic clinical support.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, PA CNA certification, BLS, and a willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred/required by PA if CNA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association (every 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Provides basic hygienic care such as bathing, oral hygiene and skin care.
• Prepares patient for transport and transports as directed.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL) such as getting in/out of bed, feeding, undressing/dressing.
• Responds to patient call lights and relays messages to team leader or charge nurse.
• Takes and records vital signs, height and weight as directed.
• Changes linens as needed.
• Records and reports care provided and observations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
