Qualifications

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide vital support by assisting residents with their medication management in a supportive, safe, and effective manner while ensuring compliance with all health regulations and standards. This role is crucial in promoting optimal health outcomes for our residents.

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents as per physician's orders and in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report concerns to nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all medications administered, including dosages and timing.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for all residents.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of medication storage areas.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities as required.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Be available to assist residents with activities of daily living, as needed

Requirements

  • State Certification as a Medication Technician
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to senior care.
  • Ability to observe and monitor resident conditions effectively.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of medication interactions/side effects and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified (or willingness to obtain).
