Basic Qualifications

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.
  • Must be a US Navy certified Marine Gas Turbine Inspector (MGTI) with extensive HM&E experience.

We are an approved DoD SkillBridge Organization in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction 1322.29. GDMS is honored to assist our military and has specifically designed internships to prepare participants for their transition to civilian life.

The GDMS Military Internship program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military pay and benefits. The internship offers industry training during the last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation is voluntary, service member-initiated, and must be authorized by the chain of command prior to start. Completion of necessary agreements and documentation is required.

This program is available to active duty Military Members of all supporting branches and Military Spouses. You will job-shadow and learn from experienced leaders and motivated colleagues, developing mission-critical skills.

We have an opening for a Certified Marine Gas Turbine Inspector who meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.

Duties and Tasks:

Assist GDMS personnel with testing on the GHOST program. Objectives include providing training and job-shadowing to meet organizational needs and prepare for GDMS’s mission of delivering smarter mission-critical systems to defense, civil government, intelligence, and cybersecurity clients. The internship offers professional development, leadership networking, and training on GDMS expectations, company history, stakeholder engagement, products, and core responsibilities. The goal is to provide service members with a rewarding learning experience from the GDMS team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of Navy Ship HME Systems.

US Navy Certified Marine Gas Turbine Inspector.

Standard shipboard protocol.
