Job description

As a Coats certified lift inspector, you will be required to remain up to date with ANSI/ALI ALOIM standards for lift safety and operation. You will inspect lifts and evaluate their compliance with these published standards. As an inspector you will also complete and maintain inspection documentation as outlined by the Automotive Lift Institute and follow up on failed inspections. You will be required to understand and adhere to the Certified Lift Inspector Code of Ethics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Attain and maintain ALI Lift Inspector Certification
  • Follow industry standard lift inspection processes and use standardized lift inspection documentation to ensure that every lift receives a consistently thorough inspection.
  • Advise customers with questions involving the lift inspection.
  • Conduct the billing and collection for services rendered, including processing invoices as well as collecting cash, checks, and other forms of payment as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Relationships

  • Interactions with, but not limited to, customers of Coats products, shop managers, automotive technicians, and other members of the automotive industry.
  • This position will also interact with various Coats employees, especially those in field service, customer service, and finance.

WHO YOU ARE

  • High-school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years automotive lift installation, repair, inspecting, or manufacturing is required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics, including the ability to read schematics and use the appropriate testing devices proficiently preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year Customer Service experience with a demonstrated dedication to providing outstanding service and support as well as a positive, professional, proactive presence.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to satisfy customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Outstanding communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Comfortable with computer and mobile device usage.
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record with legal state driving license (annual Motor Vehicle Reports are conducted for safety purposes).
  • Comfortable calling out and escalating any unsafe conditions that may be presented during scope of work.

Physical Demands

  • Light physical activity may be part of lift inspections, ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
