Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years in Central Service or Surgical instrument processing preferred.
• Certification in Central Sterile Processing within one year of hire (CBSPD or IAHCSMM).
• Knowledge and ability to use aseptic technique.
• Communicates and works effectively with others.
• Accountable for self and subordinates.
• Basic computer knowledge including OneSOURCE.
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, cleanliness, and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Clean, sterilize, assemble, inspect instruments and trays; operate sterilization equipment and maintain records.
• Follow Standards of Conduct; complete SOC acknowledgement and compliance education as directed.
• Handle instrument room activities: decontamination, organization, and assembly of instrument sets.
• Manage supplies for repackaging, decontamination, Steris units, and autoclave testing.
• Add instrumentation to case carts and communicate with scrub and circulating staff.
