Job summary

National Renal Care LLC is seeking a Certified Hemodialysis Technician to support patient care under the supervision of a Dialysis Nurse. The role focuses on delivering safe dialysis treatments, performing machine setup, monitoring patient status, and maintaining aseptic procedures within policy and state regulations.

The position requires CMS-certified credentials, BLS certification, and strong attention to safety, documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced dialysis unit in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CHT/CCHT national or state certification as defined by CMS.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical and operational procedures to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
• Demonstrate efficient use of supplies and staff labor hours.
• Obtain blood samples and centrifuge samples and prepare labs per physician orders.
• Provide patient education under supervision of Dialysis Nurse or Facility Administrator.
• Perform duties under supervision to meet patient care and facility needs within scope of practice.
• Adhere to PPE policies and use PPE correctly.
• Set up hemodialysis machines per policies.
• Respond to machine alarms and troubleshoot as needed.
• Remove disposables and clean stations after each treatment.
• Know emergency equipment and participate in emergency measures.
• Record pre- and post-treatment patient weights.
• Initiate and terminate dialysis treatments per prescription and policy.
• Monitor patients at least every 30 minutes and document.
• Follow acid and bicarbonate preparation procedures.
• Maintain supplies and keep the supply room organized.
• Document water testing and quality control logs.
• Report changes in patient condition to the Dialysis Nurse.
