Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. You will enforce safety rules, perform routine inspections and respond to incidents under the supervision of the shift supervisor, in a courteous and professional manner.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience, and current Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification as a Police Officer or POST, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and CPI and firearms

Qualifications

• Must be able to enter and retrieve data using computer systems.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Must be able to work in a team and adapt to hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Enforces safety and security rules on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations.
• Investigates accidents and incidents and reports findings promptly.
• Participates in emergency response and related drills.
• Maintains required annual certifications and completes training on schedule.
