Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, guests and employees across campus. You will enforce safety rules, perform routine inspections, investigate incidents, and participate in emergency response drills to maintain a secure environment.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1 year of security or related experience, and certifications including BLS, CPI, firearms training, and IAHSS within 90 days of hire. Strong communication and English proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly to varying levels.
• Team A Essential Personnel – must report for duty during disasters.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to walk the company property including exterior and interior areas, stairwells in an 11-floor structure.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all safety and security rules and policies on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations.
• Investigates accidents and incidents and reports occurrences promptly.
• Performs opening/lockdown of buildings as approved by Administration and other safety duties.
• Participates in emergency response and preparedness drills.
• Maintains annual certifications and completes training within required timeframes.
• Adapts behavior to respect privacy and communicate effectively with patients.
