Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to independently deliver treatment plans and evaluations. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and an active state license, with eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity.

BLS certification is also required. You will evaluate patients, develop plans, monitor progress, maintain records, and ensure care quality and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or equivalent.
• Current Occupational Therapy license in the state of practice, with eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making when handling varied patient cases.
• Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating schedules based on patient demand.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations and provides treatment programs to facilitate patient-specific goals.
• Assesses the patient’s response to treatment and recommends plan changes as appropriate.
• Maintains patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Attains productivity levels set by administration, including access to care, patient experience and quality metrics.
• Assists in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.
• Adapts communication and approach to different patient populations while respecting privacy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
