Job summary

Oibortho is looking for a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to evaluate and treat conditions affecting the hand and upper extremity. The ideal candidate will possess current OT/PT licensure, CHT certification, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, performing therapeutic interventions, and educating patients. This full-time position in New Jersey offers a salary range of $19.00 – $24.00 per hour, with standard benefits for full-time employees.

Job description

We are seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). The CHT can be either a licensed occupational therapist (OT) or physical therapist (PT) with advanced clinical expertise in treating conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity. The CHT evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, improve mobility, and help patients return to daily activities, work, and recreational pursuits.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, disorders, and post-surgical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Perform therapeutic interventions including edema management, scar management, and manual therapy.
• Design, fabricate, and fit custom orthoses/splints.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physical Therapist (PT).
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
• Minimum clinical experience required to maintain CHT certification.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy settings.
• Experience with custom splint fabrication.
• Knowledge of post-operative rehabilitation protocols.

OIBortho, LLC is required by New Jersey law to include the salary range for this role. The hiring range for this role is $19.00 – $24.00 per hour. The range for this role is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate will be working, and alignment with qualifications and experience. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation (bonus, etc) and/or benefits. In addition, full-time employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vison and retirement plan.
