Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. in Ohio seeks a forklift operator to move materials, operate the forklift safely, and maintain accurate inventory records. You will follow safety rules, GMPs, and quality procedures while adhering to production schedules and overtime requirements.

The role requires forklift certification, experience with barcode systems, and the ability to multi-task with strong time management. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for packaging/manufacturing

Qualifications

• Must be Pratt forklift certified.
• Two years forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with scanner or barcode inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, positive interpersonal communication, problem solve, read a tape measure, and manage time effectively.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience driving and operating a forklift.
• Pass substance abuse screening according to company policy.
• High degree of attention and control for prevention of damage to materials and equipment.
• PREFERRED: experience in packaging, plastics, paper, converting, warehouse, manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Follow Pratt Industries safety rules, operating procedures, and participate in Plant Safety Committee.
• Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes).
• Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies; stop bad quality from leaving the facility to the Customer.
• Perform general duties as required.
• Housekeeping and cleaning of work areas and break rooms.
• Move various sized units and/or products to the next staging area.
• Maintain accurate records as to the location of each unit moved for inventory accuracy.
• Perform basic forklift maintenance.
• Adhere to production schedule.
• Must be able to work overtime as necessary, sometimes on short notice; 24x7 operations including holidays.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.
