Staffmark in Van Nuys, CA is seeking a Certified Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations on the 2nd shift (5:00 PM–1:30 AM). Training is on day shift for 2–3 weeks to ensure proper safety and efficiency.

The role requires a current forklift certification and hands-on sit-down forklift experience. You will move, stage, and load palletized goods, maintain safety procedures, and help ensure accurate inventory and timely shipments.

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Certified Forklift Driver for a manufacturer and distributor of paper products, foodservice disposables, and packaging supplies in Van Nuys, CA. The ideal candidate has hands-on sit-down forklift experience and can safely move, stage, and organize materials and finished products in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.

Job Duties

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and transport palletized products and materials.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently.
• Move finished goods and supplies between production, storage, and shipping areas.
• Stack and store pallets in designated locations while maintaining organized inventory.
• Assist with order preparation and ensure products are handled carefully.
• Perform equipment safety checks and report any operational concerns.
• Follow warehouse safety procedures and work closely with production and shipping teams.

Experience Requirements

• Current forklift certification required.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Knowledge of safe forklift operation and material-handling practices.
• Ability to follow workplace safety procedures and operating instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of people, equipment, and surroundings.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work the designated schedule, including temporary day-shift training.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution facility.
• Experience moving, staging, and organizing palletized products and materials.
• Familiarity with loading and unloading shipments and supporting production or shipping operations.
• Experience completing equipment safety checks and reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
• Basic inventory awareness and ability to maintain an organized work area.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to safely enter and exit a forklift throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform frequent reaching, turning, and visual checks while maneuvering the forklift.
• Ability to move around the facility and navigate warehouse and production areas safely.
• Ability to work around moving equipment, palletized materials, and active shipping or production operations.
• Ability to follow all required personal protective equipment and workplace safety guidelines.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.
