Job summary

North Star Aviation, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Flight Instructor to provide high‑quality flight and ground instruction. You will uphold TSA/FAR compliance, mentor students, and collaborate with instructors to meet learning milestones.

The role requires a current 2nd Class Medical, CFI, CFI‑I, and MEI ratings, with preferred experience in PA‑28 and G1000; FAA AELS compliance is also needed. This is a safety‑driven, team‑oriented position in a hands‑on training environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold at least a 2nd Class Medical.
• Must have CFI, CFI-I, and MEI ratings.
• Prior experience teaching in PA-28-161/181, PA-44-180, and G1000 is preferred, but not required.
• Able to meet the Aviation English Language Standard (AELS) as outlined by the FAA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct excellent instruction with flight and ground students.
• Be an ambassador to safety by following applicable procedures and maintaining a safety mindset.
• Ensure student records are kept orderly and accurate.
• Periodically audit records pertaining to students under their care and correct errors per NSA procedures.
• Work with the scheduler to ensure progress toward flight lab completion deadlines.
• Student progress is a shared responsibility between schedulers and instructors.
