Job description

Company Description:

BPC Aviation LLC operates out of Rosamond Skypark (L00) in California's Aerospace Valley, offering Private, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI flight training. With over 300 days of VFR conditions annually, convenient online scheduling, and strong aircraft availability, we provide consistent, year-round flying opportunities.

Our primary operational environment offers an exceptional teaching landscape—combining proximity to mountainous terrain, busy LAX Class B airspace, Central Valley corridors, and complex military/aerospace environments surrounding Edwards AFB, Mojave Air & Space Port, and USAF Plant 42.

Role Description:

We are seeking safety-focused, motivated Contract Flight Instructors (CFI/CFII) to join our growing team. We currently have an immediate student backlog, allowing new instructors to jump right into logging dual-given hours without delay.

As a Contract CFI with BPC Aviation, you will provide primary and advanced flight/ground instruction, manage student progression, and foster a professional, safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Flight & Ground Instruction: Deliver high-quality preflight briefings, in-flight training, and post-flight debriefs for Private, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI candidates.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with FAA regulations (FAR Parts 61/91) and company safety policies.
  • Student Management: Create/update lesson plans, evaluate student performance, update progress tracking, and assist with online scheduling.
  • Aircraft Readiness: Maintain thorough pre- and post-flight procedures for our 180HP Cessna 172.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in Aviation and Flight Safety.
  • Proficiency in Piloting skills, including aircraft handling and operational decision-making.
  • Current Instrument Rating with the ability to teach instrument procedures and workload management.
  • Valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate; CFII strongly preferred.
  • Current FAA medical certificate appropriate to instructional duties.
  • Solid understanding of FAA regulations, airspace classifications, and local operating procedures.
  • Effective communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills with a focus on safety and professionalism.
  • Ability to work flexibly based on student scheduling needs and weather conditions.
  • Previous instructional experience in high-density or complex airspace is beneficial.
Why Join BPC Aviation?
  • Immediate Hours: Immediate student backlog ready to fly—no waiting around to build a schedule.
  • Diverse Flight Experience: Gain invaluable instruction experience in complex airspace, high-density altitude, and varied terrain.
  • Year-Round Flying: Enjoy 300+ days of Southern California VFR weather.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Choose Full-Time or Part-Time availability to fit your career timeline.
