Job summary

Alvita Care is seeking certified and experienced HHA/PCA caregivers for Staten Island cases. The role involves providing hands-on personal care to patients with dementia, supporting activities of daily living, and delivering compassionate, reliable in-home care to private-pay clients.

Qualified applicants have at least 1 year of hands-on caregiving experience, dementia care experience, and the ability to perform full personal care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on caregiving experience.
• Previous experience caring for patients with dementia is REQUIRED.
• Experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility.
• Must be comfortable providing full personal care, not just companionship.
• Good communication, active listening, and following care instructions.

Are you an experienced caregiver confident in providing hands‑on care to patients with dementia? Alvita Care is looking for qualified, dependable, and compassionate HHA/PCA caregivers who have the skills and experience to handle patients requiring full personal care.

Company Overview

Alvita Care is a mission‑driven Home Healthcare & Personal Care Agency with four branches and over 500 caregivers. We provide relief and assurance to family members in the areas of In‑Home Personal Care, Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care, Palliative & Hospice Care, and Geriatric Care Management and have earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval. Alvita Care clients are all private‑pay and we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

As we expand our circle of care, we are seeking top‑notch caregivers to service our Connecticut needs across the five boroughs. We have private‑duty one‑on‑one care cases available as well as facility‑based care cases.

All applicants are subject to a phone screening to determine compatibility and overall availability of accommodations for both the caregiver and the agency. Please note that cases with Alvita Care are only available to caregivers who successfully complete the onboarding process.

This Position Is Not For

• Applicants with no prior caregiving experience.
• Applicants with companion‑only experience.
• Applicants without dementia‑care experience.
• Applicants who are not comfortable providing hands‑on personal care.

Qualifications

• Must have experience assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Must be comfortable providing full personal care, not just companionship.
• Must demonstrate good communication, active listening, and the ability to follow care instructions.
• Must be reliable, patient, attentive, and responsible.
• Must have updated medicals/vaccinations or be willing to obtain
• Completed drug screen or completed Habituation Form
• Must successfully complete Alvita Care process to accept cases
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviors with care
• Trustworthy, reliable, and compassionate
• Memory Care, Palliative, ADL, and transfer experience are all a plus

DETAILS:

• Full‑time, part‑time, & per diem schedule options are available
• Weekend availability and flexibility with shifts
• Supportive and respectful work environment
• Pay ranges from $19.65-20.00/hourly
• Weekly paycheck on Fridays (direct deposit, debit pay card, or paper check)
