Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• QEI certification required.
• New York City Department of Buildings Elevator Agency Inspector license required.
• New York State Elevator Inspector license required.
• 3+ years of inspection experience; 10+ years in the elevator industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME elevator codes and safety standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of new and existing elevators, escalators, and moving walks.
• Evaluate equipment installations for compliance with codes and standards.
• Prepare complete inspection reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
• Explain findings to owners, contractors, and code officials clearly.
• Maintain inspection records and meet established deadlines.
