Job summary

Sunrun in Beltsville, MD is hiring a Certified Electrician 2 to lead solar electrical installations, mentor teammates, and ensure projects meet NEC and local codes. You will install solar systems, complete battery installations, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with AHJ inspectors and license holders. Expect travel up to 5% and a starting hourly wage between $40.42 and $53.90.

A Journeyman license and clean driving record are required; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience.
• Wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
• Valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local/state requirements.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to mentor Electricians and train on Sunrun practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation of electrical systems interconnecting our solar array to the grid power.
• Ensure workmanship and compliance with NEC and local codes.
• Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
• Safely plan and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
• Work with branch team and homeowners to fulfill system upgrades/repairs.
• Mentor others to enhance electrical skills and train on Sunrun practices.

• Address recurring quality issues and failed inspections to raise pass rate.
