Job summary

Babilou Family US in Melrose, MA is seeking a Certified Teacher to lead a safe, nurturing classroom and design high-quality curriculum that builds curiosity and long-term wellbeing. You will guide the teaching team, model sustainable education practices, and partner with families to foster development in a sustainability-minded program rooted in our Sustainable Education approach.

Location operates year-round, Monday–Friday, 7:00AM–6:00PM, with expectations for collaboration and ongoing educator

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active teaching certification as required by state licensing.
• Experience teaching young children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and classroom safety standards.
• Ability to lead classroom operations and mentor support staff.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement daily lesson plans and learning experiences aligned with developmentally appropriate practice and sustainable education principles.
• Lead classroom organization and routines that promote environmental responsibility and mindful material use.
• Model best practices for the teaching team and ensure high-quality instructional delivery.
• Supervise children during learning activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor exploration with emphasis on safety.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with families through professional communication and regular conferences.
• Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing sustainability-focused professional learning.
• Coach and support Assistant Teachers in instructional practices and environmentally responsible classroom routines.
