Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation- West Orange, New Jersey
Certified Driving Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) or Driver Rehab Specialist (DRS), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Status: Full-time - 40 hours/week
Looking for a full-time (40 hours/week, M-F) CDRS, DRS, OT, or COTA for the Driver Rehabilitation Program at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, West Orange, NJ campus. This staff member will join a large, multi-disciplinary neuro rehabilitation team, including PT, OT, and SLP services.

Responsibilities
Specific Duties:
Performs comprehensive driving evaluations with clients of varying abilities, follow-up driving sessions, along with marketing and program development. Provides clinical and service excellence by demonstrating best practices during evaluations, treatment planning, progression, assessments, goal setting, referrals, and discharge planning for clients in the driver rehabilitation program. Uses comprehensive history taking, objective measures, and standardized tests to establish action plans that address clients’ specific needs and goals. Understands and complies with diagnosis-specific medical instructions, restrictions, and precautions. Utilizes clinical decision-making to maximize client outcomes. Identifies barriers such as accessibility, language, age-specific needs, culture, and learning differences, and works with the rehab team to resolve issues following best practices established by the Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED).
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses)
Requires a current and valid COTA license and CDRS certification. Licensed experience in a neuro outpatient setting is also required.
