Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant assists dentists with procedures and daily duties and provides dental care and education to patients.

Compensation

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (40 hours per week)

Required Qualifications

• HS/GED
• 1–2 years experience in a dental clinic
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Dental Assistant certification from the District of Columbia Department of Health

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree
• 2–5 years experience in a dental clinic

Expected Contributions – Dental Care/Administrative Duties

• Prep work area for dental procedures
• Assist the dentist with all procedures
• Maintain dental equipment and instruments
• Maintain a sterile and non‑contaminated work environment
• Stock supplies, materials, medications, and equipment as needed
• Ensure proper functioning of all equipment
• Provide dental education to patients and demonstrate proper dental care
• Assist with administrative duties as needed

Position Designation
