Job summary

Join our team at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and contribute to world-class healthcare on Florida’s Treasure Coast. You will be part of a collaborative, compassionate, and innovative Sterile Processing team, working with state-of-the-art technology to deliver safe, sterile instruments for surgeries.

Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and sterilizing surgical tools and hospital equipment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Sterile Processing certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER or CER) preferred.
Experience with electronic instrument tracking systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Perform case pull functions.
Handle equipment and instruments per PPE and maintenance schedules.
Inspect, sort, and sterilize instruments; assemble into trays.
Wrap and label instruments per procedures.
Ensure cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection per AAMI ST79.
Monitor distribution of supplies and equipment.
Maintain records in the electronic tracking system for sterilization and QA.
Participate in in-service education to stay updated on best practices.
Build case carts and dispatch to locations.
Assist in educating non-certified technicians.
