Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• RPR, CVR or completion of a court reporter program is required.
• Experience with shorthand and stenography is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create verbatim records of testimony and proceedings using shorthand or stenotype.
• Transcribe shorthand records into certified transcripts per Iowa Court Rules.
• Mark, record, and secure exhibits during court proceedings.
• Maintain shorthand reporter certification and complete continuing education.
• Travel within the judicial district to record proceedings as assigned.
