The Manatee County Sheriff's Office seeks a corrections deputy to perform sworn duties within a corrections facility, ensuring care, custody, and security of inmates. Responsibilities include booking, securing the facility, and escorting inmates inside and outside the premises.

The role requires Florida corrections certification, ability to handle restraints, communicate effectively, and respond calmly in emergencies. Relevant firearms proficiency and a valid Florida driver license are mandatory.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Corrections certification is required.
• Must qualify with firearms and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Valid Florida driver license required.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises meal periods, inmate visitations and inmate/work details inside and outside the facility as directed.
• Responds to inquiries regarding inmate status and procedures.
• Completes and maintains records, logs, incident reports, and affidavits per policy and statutes.
• Operates computerized management systems to retrieve or enter information.
• Maintains accountability for tools, equipment, and facility keys.
• Observes inmate behavior, counsels inmates, and assists with treatment and first aid in emergencies.
• Escorts inmates to and from cells and during transports as required.
