Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to assist in filling prescriptions and delivering medications. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Pharmacy experience required.
  • Must hold a Certified Pharmacy Technician credential upon hire.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program required upon hire.

Schedule

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Weekly

Mon-Friday 8:30am - 6.00pm, Rotating schedule

General Summary

Fills prescriptions, routine orders for medications and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs other related duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists pharmacists as directed including filling orders and preparing labels.
  • Assists patient, taking prescription, necessary information, etc. Operates cash register. Delivers medications as needed.
  • Submits and receives orders from suppliers.
  • Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications.
  • Assists with I.V. preparation and delivery.
  • Trains other employees in day to day procedures.
  • Participates in the performance evaluation process for Technician I and Driver.
  • Position shares responsibility with other team members for daily delivery of patient medications to a Script Center in Mt. Gretna, PA. (Applies only to staff working at Good Samaritan Pharmacy location only; Department 43514).

  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Logs all drugs delivered to pharmacy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Pharmacy experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Pharmacy Technician Program. Upon Hire Required
