Job summary

Community Health Network seeks a Certified Coder to join our Indianapolis area team, handling coding and abstracting for physician billing using our coding software and reference books. The role requires CPC certification (AAPC), experience in surgery coding (cardiology preferred), and strong Epic EMR skills.

After a training period, remote work is possible with on-site presence as needed to support department needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years coding experience preferred.
• Experience in surgery coding preferred, including Cardiology.
• CPC certification through AAPC required.
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred.
• Remote work possible after training with on-site as needed.

The Certified Coder will be responsible for coding and abstracting for physician billing using software and coding books based on current work assignment.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of coding experience preferred.
• Experience in surgery coding preferred, including Cardiology.
• Certified Professional Coding (CPC) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) required.
• Previous experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred.
• This position will allow the flexibility to work remotely after the initial training period with the expectation to work on-site on an as needed basis per the needs of the hiring department.
