Job summary

Jefferson City Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Coder with at least two years of physician coding experience in a clinical billing environment. The role focuses on billing providers and ancillary services and coordinating workflow with clinics for accurate information.

Candidates should hold CPC, CCA, and/or CEMC certifications and possess strong ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge, medical terminology, and professional communication within the organization and with external partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a Physician Coding environment.
• Certification as CPC, CCA, or CEMC for E&M and Family Medicine is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High school diploma or GED

Experience:

• Minimum two years in a Physician Coding environment

Certification/License:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
• Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) for E&M Specialties and Family Medicine

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Competency in medical terminology as demonstrated by either formal training or experience
• Must be able to assess self-learning needs and participate in educational programs as appropriate
• Knowledge and experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding
