Job summary

A nonprofit health organization in Massachusetts seeks a Certified Central Sterile Service Tech. You will work evening shifts, decontaminate and prepare surgical instruments, and maintain documentation. Qualifications include a high school diploma and a certification within a year. Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician certification required within 1 year.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures and equipment management preferred.
• Computer experience required, MSM and Meditech preferred.
• Computer experience with MSM and Meditech preferred.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or eligible for exemption.

Responsibilities

We are searching for a talented Certified Central Sterile Service Tech

Hours: 32 flex 40hrs

Shift: Evening shift with weekend and holiday; 4:00pm – 12:30am

Location: St. Luke’s Hospital – New Bedford, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Central Processing or designee, perform duties to support and in support of the Central Processing Department. Decontaminate surgical instruments and endoscopes. Prepare, sterilize and package surgical instruments. Assemble case carts for surgical procedures. Decontaminate equipment as assigned and distribute medical and surgical supplies. Maintain proper documentation and perform other duties as assigned within the scope of position.

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• A Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is required within 1 year of acceptance of position.
• A working knowledge of sterilization procedures, equipment management and case cart assembly is preferred.
• Computer experience required, MSM and Meditech is preferred.
• The ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, record keeping and documentation skills are required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID‑19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
