Job summary

RPC Company in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist to perform adult echocardiograms and related cardiac ultrasound procedures in an accredited lab. The role emphasizes high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position features 8–12 studies per day, with echo studies around 45 minutes and stress echoes about 60 minutes.

Qualifications

  • Current cardiac sonography certification is required for full-time consideration.
  • Must hold one of the following credentials: RDCS through ARDMS, RCS through CCI, RCCS through CCI, CRCS, or Sonography Canada Advanced Cardiac Sonographer credential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform adult echocardiograms and related cardiac ultrasound procedures in accordance with lab standards.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images of cardiac structure and function for physician review.
  • Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and help ensure patient comfort throughout the exam.
  • Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamic findings.
  • Document exam information accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, providers, and clinical staff to support timely patient care.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and follow quality, safety, and infection-control procedures.
  • Assist with stress echo workflows and stress testing when qualified and assigned.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist to join an accredited lab team. This role is ideal for a skilled echo professional who is comfortable performing high-quality diagnostic studies, working closely with providers, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Position Highlights

  • Accredited lab environment
  • Average daily volume: 8–12 studies per day, depending on the mix of echo and stress echo studies
  • Echo studies are scheduled for approximately 45 minutes
  • Stress Echo studies are scheduled for approximately 60 minutes
  • Preference for candidates who can also run stress tests
  • Full-time opportunity with benefits available for qualified certified candidates

Pay Range

  • 2–4 years of experience: $30–$34 per hour
  • 5+ years of experience: $47–$67 per hour
  • Pay is based on experience, certification, and qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current cardiac sonography certification is required for full-time consideration
  • Must hold one of the following credentials: RDCS through ARDMS, RCS through CCI, RCCS through CCI, CRCS, or Sonography Canada Advanced Cardiac Sonographer credential
  • Experience performing echo studies in a clinical, hospital, outpatient, or accredited lab setting
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, and imaging techniques
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and patient-focused care
  • ARRT is not required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to run stress tests or assist with stress echo procedures
  • 5+ years of cardiac sonography experience
  • Experience working in an accredited echo lab
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to patient care
