Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge is seeking a Certified Cancer Program Abstractor to manage medical data collection in compliance with state guidelines and support hospital accreditation efforts. Responsibilities encompass case reviews, data collection for reports, and ensuring follow-ups in line with American College of Surgeons standards.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate degree, ODS-C certification, and two years of tumor registry experience. The position offers a full-time schedule with hybrid work flexibility post-training.
The Certified Cancer Program Abstractor manages the medical data collection system in accordance with established state guidelines to assure current reporting of all cancer diagnoses to the Louisiana State Tumor Registry. This position assists in maintaining hospital compliance with established standards of the American College of Surgeons to maintain accreditation status. Responsibilities include abstracting, coding, staging, follow-up and treatment information retrieval, data collection and reporting activities, and supporting Cancer Program initiatives in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
