Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a responsible Building Inspector to review building plans, pass or fail permits during inspections, schedule inspections, and coordinate with City departments to ensure building codes are met.

This non-supervisory role involves inspecting construction in progress or on final inspection, maintaining records and preparing reports, and applying knowledge of building trades, safety standards, and local regulations to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant trade experience
• Experience or training in building inspection and code enforcement
• Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, specs
• Knowledge of safety standards and construction practices

Responsibilities

• Pass or fail building permits on inspections.
• Schedule inspections and coordinate with City departments.
• Inspect construction in progress or on final inspections for code compliance.
