Job summary

A family-owned automotive dealership in Kewanee is seeking an experienced Certified Automotive Service Technician. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems while ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a Ford Certification and 3+ years of service experience. Qualifications

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
• Experience working with diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Ford Certification and FAST transfer of OEM credits are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently.
• Diagnose and repair automotive systems including electrical and engine.
• Communicate with Service Advisor for additional service estimates.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor regarding additional repairs and estimated times.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

We are looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background and Ford certification. The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done. Ford Accepted Service Training (FAST) allows you to transfer your existing OEM certification credits towards a Ford Certification.

Our average shop production is 130%. You’ll find no shortage of hours working with us!

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ford Certification Required
• B Level Qualifications, Including Diagnostic, Electrical And Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
