Job Description

Member of the University of St. Thomas Athletic Training Staff. Provide athletic training services to Division One varsity student-athletes at University of St. Thomas including organization and administration of all aspects of the sports medicine program, injury management, prevention, rehabilitation, documentation, travel, and care. Function as a member of the Twin Cities Orthopedic outreach program. This is a full-time position working a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) is an organization of local medical practices owned and led by physicians, committed to giving patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as a Certified Athletic Trainer at University of St. Thomas.
  • Provide primary athletic training medical coverage for Volleyball and Men's and Women's Swim and Dive including practice, events, and travel.
  • Assess, treat, prevent, document, and rehabilitate injuries and illnesses.
  • Determine athletes' readiness to participate in conjunction with team physicians.
  • Communicate daily with coaching staff regarding athletes' health status.
  • Refer student-athletes to physicians or specialists as needed.
  • Provide medical treatment and rehabilitation under physician guidance.
  • Identify psychosocial needs and refer accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports as required.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide education and supervision to athletic training interns.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff, coaches, and department personnel.
  • Complete administrative duties promptly.
  • Comply with all relevant rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Educate athletes on nutritional aspects related to injuries and illnesses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.
  • NATABOC certification.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens certifications.
  • 1-2 years of collegiate athletic trainer experience.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
