Job summary

Select Physical Therapy in Des Moines, IA is seeking a passionate PRN Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to care for athletes at local schools, Drake University, and community events. This per diem role offers hours as needed with pay starting at $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.

The position involves designing rehab programs, on-field care, and outreach activities to promote the clinic. Minimum BS, NATA-BOC, CPR, and state licensure are required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
• NATA-BOC certification and CPR required.
• Applicable state license where required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
• Perform athletic training techniques before and during games/practices (taping, wrapping, bracing, hydration, wound care).
• Assess athlete status and document changes within the care plan.
• Manage emergencies and coordinate EMS and acute care procedures.
• Promote outreach by participating in events to represent the company.

Type of Employment: Per Diem/PRN

Schedule: Hours Vary as needed

Compensation: Starting at $30/hr, commensurate with experience

• Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation


• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration and minor wound care)


• Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of specified plan of care


• Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures including basic life support to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.


• Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (races, club teams, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications
