General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Network. We seek professionals with competency as outlined by NATABOC practice domains.

Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. At MedStar Sports Medicine, our athletic trainers provide expert medical coverage and lead community outreach to promote wellness, health, and injury prevention across active populations. Primary Duties
  1. Provides assessments of injured athletes onsite at the training facility, including history review, assessments, recommendations, and timely documentation.
  2. Represents MedStar at community events like parent nights, coaches' meetings, booster clubs, and staff meetings. Demonstrates ability to initiate referral processes to increase outreach and ensure proper injury management protocols.
  3. Prevents, recognizes, evaluates, and provides immediate care, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of injuries/illnesses. Provides athletic medicine coverage for affiliated events such as camps, tournaments, and health fairs.
  4. Maintains accountability for administrative requirements, including scheduling, reporting, tracking, and compliance.
  5. Participates in professional development through educational programs, workshops, and independent learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as an ATC by the NATABOC and CPR certification.
  • Eligible for ATC licensure in Maryland, Virginia, and practice in D.C.
  • Master's degree and 1-2 years of experience preferred.
Minimum Qualifications

This position has a hiring range of $60,632 - $107,494.
