Athletic Trainers are highly qualified, multi-skilled healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Primary Duties

1. Assess injured athletes onsite at the training facility, including reviewing history, performing assessments, making recommendations, and documenting results accurately and promptly. Attend and represent MedStar National Rehabilitation Network at seasonal parent nights, coaches meetings, booster club meetings, contract meetings, and staff meetings.
2. Initiate referral processes to navigate the outreach community through the MedStar network to increase service volumes, demonstrating the ability to use the chain of command and protocols effectively. Determine athlete readiness and communicate status clearly with athletes, families, and staff.
3. Prevent, recognize, evaluate, and provide immediate care, rehabilitation, and reconditioning for athletic injuries and illnesses. Provide athletic medicine coverage for affiliated events like camps, tournaments, health fairs, and educational classes.
4. Maintain accountability for administrative requirements including scheduling, reporting, tracking, and compliance.
5. Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, workshops, and independent learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in athletic training from an accredited institution.
• Certification as an ATC by the NATABOC and AHA certification.
• CPR certification.
• Eligible for ATC licensure in Maryland, Virginia, and practice in D.C.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

This position offers a salary range of $60,632 - $107,494.
