Job summary

Titusville Area Hospital is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine/Rehabilitation team. The Athletic Trainer provides prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and education to student athletes in partnership with physicians, therapists, coaches, families, and school athletic departments.

This role supports athlete health and safety while promoting the Titusville Area Hospital Sports Medicine program across communities and schools we serve.

Qualifications

• NATABOC certification required.
• Current Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer licensure required.
• Active professional affiliations preferred (PATA & NATA).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletes to return to activity.
• Develop treatment plans per physician orders and standards of care.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Communicate with athletes, families, coaches, and healthcare team.

Titusville Area Hospital is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine/Rehabilitation team. The Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and education services to student athletes in partnership with physicians, therapists, coaches, families, and school athletic departments.

This position plays an important role in supporting the health and safety of athletes while promoting the Titusville Area Hospital Sports Medicine program throughout the communities and schools we serve.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, treat, rehabilitate, and assist athletes in safely returning to activity following injury.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plans in accordance with physician orders and established standards of care.
• Monitor athletes' progress and response to treatment and modify plans as appropriate.
• Communicate clearly with student athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, physicians, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team regarding injuries, treatment plans, activity restrictions, and return-to-play recommendations.
• Serve as a liaison between TAH Sports Medicine, high schools, athletic departments, coaches, families, and healthcare providers.
• Provide medical coverage for athletic events and advise coaching staff regarding an injured athlete's ability to safely return to participation when a physician is not present.
• Educate athletes, families, coaches, and school personnel on injury prevention, recognition, treatment, and overall health and fitness.
• Participate in injury prevention and athletic performance programs designed to reduce injury risk and promote athlete wellness.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, rehabilitation programs, and outcomes in accordance with department policies.
• Obtain and maintain appropriate demographic and health insurance information for athletes.
• Utilize the ImPACT concussion management program effectively.
• Perform and demonstrate knowledge of wrestling weight certifications and weight management activities.
• Participate in the orientation and annual re-credentialing of Sports First Aider (SFA) staff.
• Provide and/or assist with CPR and First Aid education for coaches and school personnel.
• Maintain awareness of adolescent health and wellness concerns, including body image and social factors that may affect student athletes.
• Provide age-appropriate education and involve families and significant others in the athlete's care when appropriate.
• Ensure a safe treatment environment and recognize limitations or concerns that may affect an athlete's ability to participate.
• Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Coordinate work schedules and oversee the safe use of Sports First Aiders within their scope of practice.
• Participate in departmental activities, program development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification.
• Current Pennsylvania Athletic Trainer certification/licensure (Level A).
• Professional affiliation with the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society and National Athletic Trainers' Association preferred/required as applicable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with athletes, families, coaches, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledge of athletic training, conditioning, rehabilitation equipment, and techniques.
• Ability to use computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in emergency or stressful situations.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Work locations vary based on school and program needs and may include the hospital, outpatient/clinic settings, and area school athletic facilities.
• Position requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and movement throughout the workday.
• Reliable transportation to off-site school and athletic locations is required.
• Schedule varies based on school and athletic program needs.
• Evenings and weekends are required.
