Job summary

Government agency seeks a Certified ASL Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees and applicants in a secure federal environment. The role requires both ASL interpreting qualifications and a Secret clearance, with duties spanning meetings, trainings, interviews, and briefings.

Interpreting will be performed onsite at the DLA Headquarters, McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir,VA, or other approved locations. Strict confidentiality and RID/Code of Conduct compliance apply.

Qualifications

• Active ASL interpreter certification or RID/NAD credentials accepted.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.
• Experience interpreting in government, professional, technical, or secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide certified ASL interpreting for government meetings, trainings, interviews, and briefings.
• Interpret between spoken English and ASL to facilitate communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees and customers.
• Perform specialty interpreting assignments requiring a Secret clearance as requested by the Government.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive government information encountered during assignments.
• Coordinate with scheduling personnel and the Government point of contact regarding assignments and changes.
